‘LIGHT SHOW’ showcasing futuristic products from K-Lite—A GRAND SUCCESS

The 3-day LIGHT SHOW organized by the Chennai-based K-Lite Industries, market leader a and trend setter in the lighting industry, a unit of ‘Kumbhat Group’ concluded in AIEMA Technology Centre on 13th April 2009.

The Show was a launching pad for many new products which were designed and developed by K-Lite keeping in view the futuristic demands and trends. On display were more than 1500 lighting fixtures. These included optimal lighting, high masts, specially designed lighting for pedestrian crossings, city beautification lighting, induction lighting, energy saving wall washers, garden lighting, retail lighting, residential lighting, landscape lighting, architectural lighting, sports lighting, industrial / railway lighting, metro / airport / mines lighting, specialty lighting, LED applications / power saving solutions / Lighting for Green House and Lighting accessories & control, .

The Shows main objective was to highlight the need for devoting attention and importance to proper planning and designing of lighting needs. A well planned lighting will provide optimum illumination with lower costs and energy requirements.

The show was inaugurated on11th April 2009 by Mr. A. Sankarakrishnan, Managing Director, KONE Elevators India. Dr. Avinash Kulkarni, President, Indian Society of Lighting Engineers inaugurated the Illumination Lab of K Lite. A Technical Presentation on Solid State Lighting and Control Systems was made by Mr K Chander Sekar, Director, Technique Design Group, Hyderabad.

The more than 50,000 sq ft of display area wore a festive look with appropriate display and lighting effects on the occasion.

The show attracted nearly 4500 business visitors including Architects, town planners, interior designers, landscape architects, builders, electrical contractors, lighting professionals from the hotel industry, resorts, electric utilities, hospitals, public works departments, city development / administration agencies, railways and airports. Keeping in view the environment needs, battery cars were operated for facilitating movement of visitors

The 1.5 billion dollar lighting Industry in India witnessed a double digit growth in the last three years, thanks to the emphasis being given on infrastructure development by the Central and State Governments. With the increased investments in the infrastructural sectors, the lighting industry is poised for rapid development.

As one visitor exclaimed after visiting the show “there is more to lighting than what is visible from outside—a need for first understanding the lighting needs, planning, designing and procurement of best suited lighting fixtures—all skillfully educated in the Lighting Show of K-Lite; an education for all from professionals to users”
